I bet those people must have been completely puzzled if it just corrupts things or segfaults without any real error message!!  I saw a couple of people asking about this error on a few boards so I figured might as well blog about it.</description>

		<description>This is a super common problem with GUI toolkits. Any code that modifies GUI elements needs to happen in the main event thread.  I helped debug a problem like this on Blackberry with Java a while ago too.  And Qt a few years ago. And Java/Swing. Over and over and over, this mistake gets made.

At least with WinMo it seems to actually throw an exception instead of just randomly corrupting things or segfaulting :)</description>
